Halloween 2008

Well there was no way of getting Wyatt in to his penguin costume despite all the coaxing of his entire entourage. Malcolm didn't seem to care too much for his gingerbread man costume either but, at that age, he doesn't yet have a choice. Here are some photos from our trip to Cortland Street and Jen's party later that night -- where Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence made an appearance.

Food Please!

Malcolm - almost six months old and definitely ready to start eating! Now if his mamma will just get some oatmeal at the grocery store -- call it denial that her little baby is already old enough to eat.

Carving

Wyatt named the orange pumpkin Accck and the white pumpkin Emily. We decided to carve Accck.

Parkered Cars

This was the scene on the couch when Wyatt went up for his nap this afternoon. Other than the fact that he likes to neatly park his cars very carefully, here are some other fun facts about Wyatt at 2.5 years of age:

-- He always sleeps with his pink bunny. Some days he also sleeps with blue dog, Thomas & Percy the trains, when he doesn't banish them from his bed for being "too dirty" "too loud" "too tired" or any other reason he might come up with.

-- He eats primarily hamburger and when he's not eating hamburger he's eating steak.

-- He loves to watch videos of himself on YouTube.

-- Every morning he sits at the table and eats breakfast with Papa.

-- He loves to drive his cars on the couch and orders anyone in the room to sit on the couch - not because he wants company, but rather because he needs someone on the couch smooths the bumps out for him to drive on.

-- His passion for sliding has been replaced by a newfound love of the swings. He could swing at the playground for hours.

-- He loves to play "tennis" and "baseball" in the "back ard"

-- He chooses to ride the lion on the carousel by Gigi's house, even though it doesn't go up and down like the horses.

-- Almost nightly he boards his hot rod and rounds the dining room table playing drive-through. He frequently orders sausage egg and cheese biscuits, milkshakes and decaf lattes with soymilk.

-- He's a sweet big brother who picks up toys for Malcolm when he drops them and occasionally spontaneously says, "I love Malcolm."

Pumpkins

Today we visited a pumpkin patch. Wyatt had the run of the lot and, to everyone's surprise, chose to pick out a white pumpkin! Malcolm didn't seem to care. Wyatt was at first interested in going in to the kiddie hay maze but quickly realized that it meant crawling and getting hay pieces all over your hands, so he declined. He was very interested in the turkeys and the bunnies. We brought home two pumpkins - an orange one and of course a white one.

Moose's Bad Day

More teeth on the way, a spill off the bed, scratched by the kitty after a slight curious tug on the tail AND a knock on the noggin by a falling acorn up at Holly Park -- all this and he still has a cute little smiling face. Hope you have a better day tomorrow Mr. Moose.

Fiesta 2008

This morning we walked up to Cortland Street for the annual Bernal street fair, Fiesta on the Hill. Wyatt and Malcolm had a blast! When we told Wyatt we were walking up to the Fiesta to see the pony rides he stated that he would be looking for zebras. So, we spent a good amount of time looking around for zebras but never found one. The closest we found was the zebra print handbag spotted by Aunt Bootsy...Wyatt was unimpressed. The next closest thing was Cupcake, the blank and white pony Wyatt took a ride on. I was pretty excited that she was black and white and tried to discuss the similarities of a black and white pony and a zebra with Wyatt...he was still unimpressed. What did impress him, however, was a small battery operated yipping dog and the dunking booth. Malcolm was impressed with a cluster of balloons that elicited chuckles from him. Jason and I were impressed with the dry rub tritip sandwiches. Fun day!

Tennis Anyone?

Clementine came over this morning for a little breakfast at Wimbledon in the back yard. Unfortunately, since Wyatt's tennis game was already in progress when she arrived, she got less desirable racket. As you can see, she didn't seem to mind. After tennis each enjoyed a little bike riding, trains, cars, cement trucks and drumming.

Ground Control to Major Moose

Well we broke down and got an excersauser for Malcolm today. He loves it and it gives us a much needed break from holding him all day long. He can't sit up yet but makes his preference for being upright very known. Here is Wyatt showing him the ropes.

New Bicycle

Papa couldn't resist. Wyatt loves his new bike and can't believe he has a bicycle now just like walrus in one of his favorite books! Despite the fact that its listed as ages 2-5, its a little big for him still so he has trouble reaching the ground. He'll just have to grow in to it...maybe we can get him to eat more now with the promise of growing legs long enough to ride his bike.

Camping!

This weekend we took our first family camping trip down to Costanoa (just south of Half Moon Bay). Wyatt loved his new sleeping bag and the bunk beds in the tent he shared with Papa. Malcolm also had a blast sitting around the fire way past his bedtime.

Wee one on Wii

Clearly Wyatt inherited his extreme focus and superb eye hand coordination from...actually, its not at all clear where he gets it from. At only two and a half years old he's better at Wii tennis than me or Jason and he holds the high score for baseball!
