Moose Mittens

Well this has not been a good week for poor lil moose man. His hands were badly burned on Sunday when he touched the outside of our ridiculously hot oven door. The door was closed. Needless to say he's been a favorite patient at the ER and in the burn clinic this week. He is going to be just fine and his hands are healing perfectly. Having bandages and socks over his hands has been very developmentally frustrating for him - he can't grip things (like his little walker wagon), feed himself, crawl or pull himself up easily. All things considered, he's been in a great mood despite all that has happened.

Here are some photos of him with his bandages on. The one of him eating the biscuit is before we learned handy trick of placing socks over the bandages to keep him from taking them off.

And, in a surprising turn of events, Wyatt has requested to have his hand bandaged too.

This week a photographer came to photograph the kids at mom's group. Here are some of the shots she took. The Restless Sleeper

These days we're in what Penny and I like to refer to as "survival mode". In order to function properly, most humans need a certain amount of uninterrupted sleep. We found this out the hard way. So, to make sure that we can speak in coherent sentences and remember to put our pants on before leaving the house, we needed to take action. Now, Penny sleeps downstairs with Moose Man and I sleep upstairs with Bear. You'd think it would be the opposite, but I swear this means Penny gets more sleep then I do. By far. In order to illustrate what I have to deal with on any given night, I decided to take a picture of Wyatt's position when I arrived in his bedroom last night. Notice the head on one bed, body on the other, completely spread-out positioning. Also, for the record, he was under the covers and in the other bed when I last saw him around 9:30.

Jumpy House

Wyatt and Malcolm had their first jumpy house experience this weekend at Gregory's birthday party. Let's just say I hope there are more in their near future. Wyatt spent the entire party in the jumpy house and wouldn't even come out for cake and singing.

Rain Days

Its been raining a lot in San Francisco. We've been taking some trips to the mall just to get out and play a little bit. Here are some cute shots from one of our trips a few weeks ago.

Meeting Roshan

Baby Roshan is now five weeks old! We stopped by to meet the little guy this weekend and visit with Nasha and Jason. The whole family seems to be doing great and settling in to their new life together. Roshan is an adorable little peanut who is already quite alert! We look forward to watching the little guy grow and develop.

Malcolm did a good job of pointing out all the potential hazards in their home so childproofing should be a breeze in the coming months.

Here Comes Trouble

Sun and Fun in Scottsdale

We took a little mini vacation to Scottsdale, AZ last weekend to escape the rain in San Francisco. The weather in Scottsdale - sunny and low 80s - did not disappoint. We spent our days lounging by the pool (Malcolm's favorite), going down the waterslide, soaking in the hot tub (Wyatt's favorite) and playing with the many yard games around. We ended up not even leaving the resort! Wyatt and Malcolm, city kids that they are, got to see live bunny rabbits and ducks roaming the grounds. I said Wyatt's favorite was the hot tub but in actuality it was probably the crickets which were also a first for him. They were a bit confusing to him because we could only hear them and he never got to see one. My favorite part was the nightly trip out to the fire pit with Wyatt to listen for crickets and talk about all things on his mind..."mama, how do you like Arizona? What is Phoenix? Are we in Phoenix? Are we gonna sleep here? Have you ever seen a cricket?"
