Busted

Malcolm and Wyatt have their own beds. In fact they even have their own rooms. But, they choose to sleep together in the same room and sometimes lately, even sneak off to the other room where they can snuggle together in the same bed at night.
Here they are getting busted attempting to incorporate Max in to their slumber party antics. There was way too much giggling which resulted in staying up long passed their bed time so, on this occasion all three boys had to be separated.

First Day of School

Malcolm on his way to pre-K in the Starlight Room at Happy Times Nursery School and Wyatt on his way to first grade at Grattan Elementary School. And, the back to school cake they made and decorated (obviously) to celebrate.

Wardrobe Malfunctions

These are just a few of the outfits the boys have been spotted in lately.

Grumpy and Jean in Pawleys

One of the best parts about going to Pawleys Island is getting to visit with Grumpy and Jean every year. We've made a tradition out of going to the amazing pool at their hotel, going out to dinner with them to the "restaurant with the shark bursting out of the roof" and getting ice cream with them afterwards. For the first time this year, the boys were invited to spend the night one night with Grumpy and Jean. Wyatt declined but Malcolm jumped at the opportunity. Now, after this year's visit, they have also included in their list of things they want to do every year...ride in the back of Grumpy's race car!

Pawley's Island 2012

This August we made the trek back east for our annual trip to Pawleys Island with the Lester-Barralis and the Farrells. It is amazing to watch the kids get a little bit older each year and to develop traditions that they remember from year to year. This year we stayed for two whole weeks, something I think we will have to start trying to do each year from now on.

The Girl Next Door

Meet Kenza. She moved in next door a few weeks ago. The kids all hit it off instantly and she stayed at our house and played with the boys for a few hours the day we met her. Here she is enjoying a cold lemonade with Wyatt. (Malcolm downed his and had already left the table.)

Fourth of July

We had a very fun Fourth of July with good friends and family at the Fuchsia Dell in Golden Gate Park this year. Sadly I did not get many photos of day, but did get this cute shot of Wyatt, Malcolm, Julia and Kenzie.

Waiting for the N Train

Hard to believe that one day they will be doing this all by themselves.

Ice Cream Truck

Our kids have been exposed to a lot of food trucks in their short lives, but they've never actually seen an old school ice cream truck. So, this was a big first. It took Malcolm about 20 minutes to look at every single picture on the truck to decide exactly what he wanted, and even then I think he changed his mind a few times during the ordering process.

Go Ravens!

This year Wyatt played on a T-ball team organized by parents from his kinder class. About half his class participated and Jason, as well as three other parents, coached. Wyatt loved it! And it was so great to spend Saturday mornings with other K-107 families.

Family Photo

This photo is a few months old. It was taken when Grumpy and Jean came to visit but I'm just now getting around to posting it.

Love these guys!

Rarely do they look so serious.

YUP

Found them like this "napping" in Malcolm's closet. They had locked the door and told me not to come in.

Moosey Turns Four

Malcolm celebrated his fourth birthday party with some of his closest friends, family and, at his insistence, Boswick the Clown. He saw Boswick perform for the first time at his preschool and has been talking about wanting to have him at his birthday party ever since. Needless to say, Boswick did not disappoint. Malcolm seemed to know exactly what was coming next during the act and even jumped up to cut right in on some of the shenanigans. And Boswick's humor is certainly on par with a four year old boy - there has been non-stop talk about diaper heads ever since. Malcolm at four years old is such a sweet and cuddly little guy. He loves to give and get hugs and kisses and unprompted says, "I love you mamma" and "I love Maxie the cat" several times a day. He has LOTS of energy and can be frequently found running circles around our kitchen/dining room, shaking his head around, dancing and yelling, completely unaware of the world around him. He puts his full force in to anything he does -- which can often result in the destruction of property that he is playing with or that is in close proximity to him. We call him Mr. Destructo. I used to think he was that destructive on purpose but it is now clear to me, given the level of sadness he feels when his actions result in the destruction of toys, that he is just simply unaware of how to be gentle with things. But he is learning. He loves to play board games, especially BusyTown and Kids on Stage (charades). But his favorite thing to play is "Wild Kratts" with his big brother. He also loves to sit and draw pictures of the Wild Kratts. He still loves to dress in costume, though sadly the days of him dressing in costume daily wore off about 4 months ago. He does have strict requirements for his outfits, however. He only has about four shirts in his entire wardrobe that he will wear (three of them are short sleeved) and his has very specific pants/shorts that each of them go with. He loves to listen to music, mostly pop music. His favorite song right now is Goyte, Somebody that I used to know. He remains a very picky eater and mostly survives off of buttered noodles and broccoli. His favorite buddies from school are Brandon (Bwandon) and Kurt. His best friend of all is Wyatt. When he wakes up and comes downstairs in the morning he goes running right past me looking for Wyatt. We just love our little Moosey Moo and can't believe he is already four years old. Happy Birthday!

Wyatt attended a rock climbing birthday party for his buddy Edvin. He loved it, we will definitely be back!

Happy Easter

We had a wonderful Easter brunch at our usual spot, The Park Chalet, with Jen and Floyd, Giggen, Gigi, Sean and Tiff, and the Murphy Mortimore family (Chuck, Mara, Esther and Dottie). Unfortunately, I didn't get a good shot of the four of them all together this year...we ducked out a little early to get Floyd a nap. We very much missed Uncle Scott who was in the hospital and wasn't able to make it this year.

Dolores Park

The grand re-opening of the new Dolores Park playground got a two thumbs up from the kids.
