Going to breakfast
Papa and Wyatt have started going to breakfast and lunch together on the weekends...here's a photo from their first outing to Moonlight Cafe.
TB Scare
So I guess Malcolm has now had his second near death experience -- a brush with tuberculosis. Our family was apparently exposed to a nurse with active TB while in the hospital delivering Malcolm. Jason, Malcolm and I all underwent testing this week - which included a precautionary chest x-ray for Malcolm. All tests were negative, as expected. Just one more reason to be thankful for our happy and healthy little guys.

Malcolm on the Move!
Malcolm has been rolling over for a few weeks now but it was just finally caught on tape. I actually thought it was accidental the first few times he did it but, as clearly seen in this video, he lets out a little squeal before one of his role over attempts...indicating he knows darn good and well what he's trying to do. Wyatt, in true olympic spirit, can be heard in the background saying, "I want to play volleyball and things like that" and, unrelated to the olympics, "get me my drill."

Fun Raft 2008
The composition of the fun raft trip to Tahoe has changed dramatically over the past few years. It seems each year sees the addition of one new non-drinking pregnant woman (Marla this year, Mara last) and one new kid on the trip (actually two this year Malcolm and Dottie!) Much less alcohol is consumed during the trip and this year we didn't even launch the "fun raft" - an inflatable trampoline we usually tie to a dock. Maybe there is a direct correlation between the launching of the fun raft and alcohol consumption? In either case, as the kids get older I predict there will be much more of each happening on future trips. This year was certainly relaxing.

Out of the Mouths of Babes...
Funny things Wyatt has said recently:
*I have beautiful big brown eyes, papa has big brown eyes, mama has...eyes like a zucchini.
*To Gissela: I like those cool pants!
*To Gissela on being told that she'd change his diaper after getting Malcolm to sleep: Thats ok, take your time.
*To Thomas the train, behind closed doors while I'm listening to him trying to go to sleep: Your so cute Thomas.
*Upon returning to the house for a nap following an action packed morning playing: I'm too busy to go up the stairs right now.

3 Months Old
Malcolm just loves sitting around and watching his brother drive cars. He also loves to watch the birdie mobile on the changing table and to stare at the painting above the couch. He smiles a lot and laughs if tickled on the cheeks. He doesn't like going to sleep or staying asleep and prefers to sleep in someones arms. He doesn't want to miss any of the action!

Thomas is sooooooooo big!
We've finally given in to the fact that our lil boy is Thomas obsessed just like the masses of other toddlers out there. So, we threw up our hands and took him to ride Thomas in person at the Roaring Camp Railroad outside of Santa Cruz. When we arrived and Wyatt first saw Thomas his eyes got wider than I've ever seen, he covered his mouth he gasped in amazement! That look was worth fighting the crowds for. His comment, "Thomas is SOOOOOOOOOOOO big, I can't believe it!" Thomas took us through a beautiful redwood forest - it was a great ride. If you look hard enough you can see one happy little boy peeking out of the train car.
