Malcolm at Two

Our little Moose Man is turning two. He's really growing up to be quite a presence in our family. He is smiley and giggly from the moment he wakes up in the morning. At two year's old he has developed lots of new interests. He loves garbage trucks and digger trucks, playing drums, dinosaurs ("bones!") his giraffe babies - he sleeps with all four of them -- and most of all his big brother, Wyatt. He loves to he noodles and pizza and not much of anything else. He is talking up a storm - full sentences and all. He takes swimming lessons where he catches the teacher off quard because of his reckless and fearless enthusiasm for the water (and all things dangerous for that matter.) He loves to ride scooters and run around the house "racing" with Wyatt. One of his most recent hobbies includes creating piles. He piles everything up - from laundry, to toys, to mulch on the playground. If you try to tear him away from his pile he yells, "I'm working, I'm working!" This is a photo of one of his recent toy piles. We love him so much and can't believe how quickly he is growing up.

Birthdayzilla

Malcolm is all too aware that its time for his birthday. It started when he got one of his birthday presents a little early because Giggen was going out of town. He opened his new digger truck and, when he realized that Wyatt wasn't getting a gift AND that he got to play with it for as long as he wanted without sharing it, he became one very proud little boy. He's been carrying around his digger truck with a huge gloating smile on his face ever since. (Of course he has had to share it with Wyatt since then but he knows its his truck and its very special to him.) His sense of birthday pride turned to utter entitlement today when we went to Target to pick out supplies for his birthday party. At first he took his time carefully selecting the plates and napkins he wanted (he chose the Paul Frank monkey face) and then quickly began grabbing items off the shelf and tossing them in to the back of the shopping cart screaming, "I NEEEEEEEED dat! I NEEEEEEEED dat!" Luckily I was able distract him long enough by letting him open the bag of goldfish crackers he grabbed off a shelf so that I could remove the other unwanted items from our cart. I think I better wait a few months before I bring him back to Target.

Setting Up the Drum Set

"It's not working!!!" Poor Moosey, has to have his set up just right for belting out the likes of "Bingo was his Name-O" and "Row Row Row Your Boat." He is quite particular.

Spring Time

We've been very bad about posting photos lately, especially considering that we've had many spring time adventures over the past few weeks. Here are some highlights -- a trip to the zoo with Dottie and family, fun at the beach, eating ice cream and generally enjoying the nice weather.
