The Big Day

Malcolm and Gammy

Heartbreaker on the dance floor

Ring Bear and the groom

Ring Bear's Pillow

The excitement and anticipation of the big day - Sean & Tiff's wedding was killing Wyatt (as well as the rest of us!) Only he couldn't seem to understand when it was actually happening and would just start insisting, "Want to go to the wedding NOW!" daily for about two weeks leading up to the big day. Pretty funny since he had no frame of reference for a wedding, but he was pretty sure it'd be something fun that he'd want to be at. Once there of course he didn't restrain himself from blurting out mid-ceremony, "I'm ready to go home now."

It was a beautiful ceremony and the boys looked quite dapper I must say. We were all anxious to see how Wyatt would perform in his self proclaimed role as "ring bear." He did great! In fact, he was so comfortable going down the aisle he decided to do it twice - once when he was supposed to and once more during the middle of the ceremony, running to show Gammy his cement truck while I was trying to occupy him back of the church. Though I went chasing after him, I was no match for him while wearing heels and a sleeping baby in the Bjorn.

More photos to come, hopefully...

The Maiden Voyage

Today was our first full day out on the town with the wonderful new MooseGoose Mobile. The boys seemed to like it, Malcolm took a few naps in it. Its very easy to push up the hills. Never enough room in any stroller for all the groceries and stuff I seem to collect up and down Cortland Street. In this stroller they pile nicely on Malcolm...poor lil guy.

California Academy of Science

We've been anxiously awaiting the opening of the new California Academy of Science. Wyatt loved visiting their temporary location south of market street, but it closed almost a year ago to make the move to the newly refurbished building in Golden Gate Park. We were invited to go to a members only sneak preview before the big opening. Wyatt was still interested in some of his good ol' favorites - starfish, yellow fish and the penguins. But now he is even more interested in the zebras! He loves stripes, as you can see from his outfit. He also loved the playroom, complete with a very realistic kitchen where he made "onion and pea crisps" for dinner and yelled at me if I got too close to the pan, "Dont touch it mama! It's hot!" Malcolm loved staring at all the fish and lounging on the pillow in the playroom watching Wyatt make dinner.

First Tooth!

Malcolm has his first tooth poking through. His lower right front tooth. So far no Tylenol needed.

Little Bow Peep Jr.

I came home to find Malcolm all dressed up in his papa's old baby bonnet. Gissela did not dress him in the matching sweater, though he has also worn it often.

Tonight was very relaxing around our house...not something I can say too often. Wyatt ate all his dinner and then took to driving his trucks on the couch. Malcolm was laying on the couch in his way so Wyatt climbed up and rearranged some pillows so that Malcolm could stay on the couch but could be moved out of the way of "pink bunny's truck." Malcolm just layed on the couch and stared at Wyatt. Every time pink bunny's truck drove by him he would reach for it. Wyatt was very careful to drive around him. And every time Malcolm dropped his little chew toy Wyatt jumped up on the couch to grab it and hand it back to him saying, "here ya go Malcolm. Can you grab it with your fingers. That's very good, just like that." It was very sweet.

Snacks with Stella

Wyatt and Stella taking a little snack break mid-playdate. They even had a little conversation, "you want a crakcer?" "no" "ok, I put it right here" "ok"

New Bat

Well our lives changed dramatically yesterday morning. We were sitting outside pitching the ball to Wyatt and he was swinging his "bat" an empty water bottle he's been using for the past few weeks now, when papa suggested that they go to the store to buy a new bat! Wyatt took one look at his current bat and tossed it exclaiming, "Yeah! This is a water bottle!" as if he'd just noticed that fact or could no longer pretend otherwise. He is so excited about his new bat that it prevented him from being able to nap this afternoon -- it took hours for him to fall asleep and then he was up after about an hour half way down the steps crying (b/c he was still half asleep and tired) and yelling "Papa, I wanna go play baseball." His new bat is really for T-ball, which he refuses to play b/c that isn't how baseball is played. He demands that the ball be pitched to him, by rolling it on the ground. His success rate with making contact with the ball on the new bat has dropped dramatically since switching from the water bottle -- as a result of the longer bat size. Here he is (a chip off the 'ol block, eh em) frustrated with his new obsession.
