Farewell to Farrells
These are old but never got posted. Our farewell weekend with the Farrell family eating oysters on the beach at Tomales Bay. Unfortunately we didn't get a shot of the whole family. When I posted these Malcolm started kissing the computer screen say, "Lucy, kiss kiss." We miss them!

And the wheels come off...
Wyatt has been asking me to take his training wheels off for a few weeks now. I've been hesitant to do it, but he wouldn't let it go. So we rode up to the playground today, and I took the wheels off (half expecting him to fall down and ask me to put them back on). Instead, he just pedaled away from me. I ran next to him for a while, to catch him just in case he fell, and he yelled at me to go sit down. OK, then buddy...

Little Boys Club
This past week while Jason was in the Netherlands for work called for desperate measures in terms of taking a shower. I decided to go out on a limb and trust the kids not to kill each other for 5 minutes each morning. So, we came up with the concept of "Little Boys Club" -- something they'd started on their own a few days before. During Little Boys Club they both go in to Wyatt's room and close the door so that they are by themselves with no adults and they quietly look at books together. Its actually a parents dream come true! But, of course, they think its something special for them. It's hysterical to eavesdrop on the conversations about fire trucks and dinosaurs. The only rule is that no one is allowed to get hurt. I was still a little nervous about leaving them without being about to hear any torture that might be taking place but I got over that pretty quickly. Two days ago while in the shower I heared crying and screaming from the bedroom. I just left them and it stopped quickly. Apparently there was an incident with a spilled glass of water and Malcolm was of course "soaked to the bone" as Wyatt said. When I finished my shower and went in there the glass had been refilled and the water somewhat wiped up. Happy Little Boy's Club.

Russian River
This past weekend we rented a house in the russian river with Chuck/Mara/Dottie and Nasha/Jason/Roshan. We had a great time - relaxing in the sun, hiking down to the creek, hanging out by the river and watching the kids chase each other wildly through the house. Here are some photos of us on the river.
New Playhouse
Grumpy and Jean visited over father's day. During their stay they were kind and brave enough to assemble a playhouse for the boys - it was actually a Christmas gift from them two years ago but we haven't been able to put it together before now because we've been homeless. The kids love it and most mornings Malcolm is asking to go out there to play in it by 7 am. Thank you Grump and Jean.
