Swimming Lessons
Every Thursday Gammy takes Malcolm to his swim class. Lately Wyatt has been allowed to go too and splash around in the pool with Gigi while Malcolm is in swim class. Wyatt had been signed up for his own swim class but decided he didn't want to do it anymore. We thought he didn't like swimming - turns out that he just doesn't like being in the class but has a great time swimming around and playing on his own. He loves to swim over to the class to "check on Malcolm." This week after swim class he told me that he didn't want to swim over to the class. When I asked him why not he said, "because they were singing wheels on the bus." I replied, "I thought you liked that song" and his response was, "I do but I don't want to sing it."

Easter Sunday
This year for Easter Sunday we went in search of brunch with the Easter Bunny. I was a little worried that the guys would be scared of him but they weren't. Malcolm was cracking up at the site of a giant bunny and kept petting him and laughing. Wyatt was not afraid but was really only interested in getting his hands on any chocolate that bunny might have.
Here is Malcolm conducting his important Easter business.
And Wyatt taking his Easter basket very seriously.

Coloring Eggs
Wyatt and Malcolm had a few friends and family over to color Easter eggs before the big day. We also hid some eggs with treats in the yard and had a little hunt for all the kids. Wyatt really got in to the egg hunt and starting seeking out eggs with chocolate in them. If he opened an egg with jelly beans or some other non-chocolate treat he promptly put that egg back and kept searching.

New Shoes
Wyatt has needed a new pair of shoes for a while now. Like with any other article of clothing, he was resisting the change, "I dont WANT new shoes!!!" Finally today I was able to take him shoe shopping, sans Malcolm, because I knew the event would require a lot of attention on my part. He has been very attached to his "light up shoes" so I thought for sure we'd be buying an exact replica in a bigger size. Much to my surprise Wyatt carefully looked over all the choices and selected a pair of pink converse. Unfortunately they didn't have his size (wink wink).
Not that I want to impose strict gender based parameters on his fashion choices but frankly he just doesn't have a lot in his wardrobe that would go with pink. So he finally settled on a substitute pair of shoes with a "kitty" on them.
He is upstairs napping with his new kitty shoes right now.

Serious Sliding
Today, about half way through a play date in the sandbox of the Children's Playground, Wyatt spotted the infamous concrete slides. He, as you may know, is a slide connoisseur and has been known to be flagged off of slides reserved for much older kids. Today, while peacefully monitoring sand toys, I heard him running away from me yelling, "mama, mama, mama!" He was half way up the steep steps clinching the guide rope before I was even able to cross the playground close enough to yell back, "Wait! You need a piece of cardboard to ride those slides Wyatt!" I'm not sure if he even knew the word "cardboard" before today but some thoughtful parent handed him a piece on his way to the top and off he went! Our little daredevil. He was definitely the youngest solo rider I saw this morning and parents were staring in amazement (actually looking at me like I was crazy for letting him go). But he did great. I was actually more worried about him scaling the steps clinging to the rope guide in one hand with a giant piece of cardboard in the other. He rode it several times before we left the playground. Moose man stayed at the bottom cheering him on...I have a feeling he's not too far behind.
